Aquino is a Family of Heroes, Bam Tells Media

Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV on Wednesday said his family (Aquino clan) is family of heroes during a media briefing about the peaceful Edsa anniversary celebration on Saturday.

“Well unang-una nagpapasalamat tayo sa panginoon na bingyan niya ng kapayapaang lumipas ang paggunita sa Edsa. Nagpapasalamat din tayo sa mga kababayan nating Pilipino na gumugunita sa kabayahiyan ng ating mga ninuno.” Aquino said.

Aquino was expected to give a short speech at anon-profit NGO in Quezon City but was cancelled due to some untoward incidents.

Reporters who were present at the vent asked Aquino about his reaction on this year’s Edsa anniversary, especially that president Rodrigo Duterte did not attend the celebration.

“Well may kanya-kanyang mahalagang bagay tayong pina-prioritize and naintindihan naman natin kung bakit hindi nakadalo si presidente Duterte. But regardless kung sino man ang dumalo o hindi, it is an undeniable fact that Edsa is part of our history through the effort of our elders. Edsa was a product of freedom started by heroes in our family. I am proud to say that Aquino is the family of heroes”, the senator said.

It was reported earlier that former President Fidel Ramos was the only notable person to attend the celebration.

Aquino also denied allegations that Edsa spirit is dying.

“E kung nawawala na yong ispiritu ng Edsa bakit tayo nagcecelebrate di ba?” He added.
