Kadamay to Reyes: Where is Our Money?
Some members of Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay), are blaming the country’s top militant leader for not receiving payment for their protest service on Saturday during the Edsa revolution anniversary.
On Wednesday, Kadamay protest organizer Lowela Martinez said Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Secretary General Renato Reyes misplaced the list containing the names of 180 Kadamay members who participated the rally.
On Monday, more than 400 people mobbed outside the national headquarters of Liberal Party in Quezon City demanding for the payment.
“Sabi niya na misplaced nya daw yong listahan pero nong sinabi namin na may kopya kami, ayaw naman niyang tanggapin at tapos na daw, naipamigay na daw ang budget galing sa partido (LP),” Martinez said.
The activist also accused Reyes of pocketing at least ₱144,000 supposedly paid to the 180 Kadamay members.
“Sa tingin namin tunaw na yong pera e. Naghirap kami sa initan tapos ganito lang mangyayari. Matagal na syang nanloloko,” Martinez said.
Mr. Reyes denied to comment on the issue as of press time.
