Drug Addict-Turned Priest Becomes Major Drug Dealer in Bulacan

The Sta. Maria, Bulacan Police is not hunting Fr. Boboy dela Cruz, a former drug addict who became priest but also became big-time drug dealer in Bulacan area.
In an interview with dela Cruz after he became priest more than a decade ago, he detailed his routine before entering the seminary.

Dela Cruz said he started using and selling marijuana when he was studying at an all-boys school in Manila.
“I started using drugs when I was still in high school. I just wanted to be ‘bida.’ Just out of curiosity,” he told INQUIRER.net in an interview.
He said he never really cared about studying, adding that he survived school by cheating during examinations and relying on his classmates for his schoolwork.
“I was only using marijuana during that time. But I didn’t get addicted to it. I used marijuana just to be ‘in,’” he said.
Aside from smoking weed, he also had vices and was part of a fraternity.
“Of course, I got involved in many troubles,” he said.

He said he then started to sell marijuana to his friends and classmates “just for fun.”

But recent record of Bulacan Police shows dela Cruz has became a big-time pusher several years after becoming a priest, prompting him to disappear when news broke-out.

Dela Cruz has been a parish priest in Bulacan for more than a decade but none of his church workers has any idea about his drug dealings.
He is now included in one of Bulacan’s most wanted drug dealers, and the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines refused to comment.
