A quo warranto case was filed by Atty. Ely Pamatong saying the certificate of candidacy (COC) filed by Duterte in 2016 was illegal.

Pamatong filed the quo warranto case against Duterte after the high court granted the quo warranto petition that ousted Sereno.

In Pamatong’s petition, the high court gave Duterte 10 days upon receipt of notice to submit his comment.

Sought for comment, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said: “We will respond as ordered.
A reliable source from CBCP said that the organization has been funding Pamatong and other people who can do something to sabotage the Duterte government.

“Pamatong cannot do this without the support of influential groups like CBCP”, the source said.

The source also added that the officials of the ruling religious group is determined to do everything to put Duterte out of power and are willing to spend hundreds of millions of the Church’s untapped wealth to destabilize Duterte.

The identity of the source was not revealed due to the sensitivity of the information that may endanger his life.
