Robredo’s ₱6.7-M Vacation House in Albay Destroyed by Volcanic Ash

A luxury vacation house owned by the family of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo was destroyed by ash emitted by Mayon volcano after a series of eruptions.

The ₱6.7 million house in Barangay Anoling, Camalig Albay, was reportedly built three years ago before Robredo came into power as vice president.

The caretaker of the house, Honorato Masongsong, said he abandoned the house on Wednesday after sensing danger, despite Robredo’s order not to leave the house.

Masongsong returned on Monday only to find out that the million-peso house is half buried in thick ash.

The caretaker said the house served as a retreat house of the vice president whenever she wanted to visit the mountain side. It has a panoramic view of the volcano but everything is lost according to the grieving employee.

Masongsong also hinted that the vice president has two other vacation houses, one in Caramoan and the other is in Daet, Camarines Norte.
