Showbiz Shocked as Lustre Call it Quits

Onscreen and real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre ended their more than a year relationship after a tumultuous first month of 2018, with accusation after accusation being hurled at each other in connection with their upcoming film.

Weeks leading up to the split on Sunday, Reid and Lustre became the subject of rumors, ranging from drunken nights-out, feigning sickness, to cheating.

The two, it would seem, had been going through a rough patch, but they allayed their fans' worst fears when they appeared together on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" to clear the air days before the break-up.

The allegations of cheating -- from anonymous tweets that made the rounds early this month -- was not directly addressed in that joint interview. But in the upcoming episode of "Gandang Gabi Vice," whose teaser was released Thursday, Lustre is asked directly on the topic of cheating.

"Naniniwala ka na si James, hindi siya mambababae?" host Vice Ganda asked.

Lustre answered, confidently, "Hindi."

Despite a rumor-plagued month, the couple appears unaffected, with Reid posting recently a "careless" photo of him with Lustre on the beach, learning, or perhaps mastering, "the art of deadma."

But all of these drama came to end on Sunday when Lustre said she can no longer hold the line and had to give-up.

“I think it’s better to let go than to hold on and continue to get hurt”, Lustre told Mario Dumaual and other reporters who tried to ambush her outside Star Magic Center.

Both actors have yet to issue official statement but considering the tumultuous January they experienced, it is hard to imagine how can they still live together after all the rumors surrounding their relationship.

The entertainment world and their fand were shock awaiting for official statements from both actors.
