On Monday, DOH Undersecretary and Master Surgeon Paquita Corbada hit Baguilat by calling him “insanely ambitious”.

“I think Rep. Baguilat is not informed that putting his 51-year old body under the knife is extremely dangerous and could result to a massive life-threatening side-effects. He is insanely ambitious without considering his job as a government worker,” Corbada said.

Several medical experts from the University of Santo Tomas also aired their concerns regarding the painful and complex process.

UST Faculty of Medicine Prof. Tomas Mojicasaid Baguilat should have consulted experts first before undergoing dangerous and risky procedure, and even call on the clinic to be investigated.

“I think the clinic and the doctors who performed a liposuction into a 51-year old diabetic should be investigated. Rep. Baguilat is considered a government property since he was elected as congressman and he should have not made such regretful decision,” Mojica said.

Sources close to the congressman said he long been wanted to remove fats under his belly as he always wear traditional Ifugao costumes, and his big stomach lowers his self confidence.

Medical experts that reacted on Baguilat’s operation said they are planning to lodge an investigation on both the congressman and the doctors who performed the surgery, including the source of the ₱480,55 used on the process.
