1,386 Kadamay Members Tested Positive on Tuberculosis, Blames Government

At least 1,286 members of urban militant group Kadamay were tested positive on tuberculosis from December 17, 2017 to February 24,2018 according to the Department of Health.

On Friday, DOH spokesman Dr. Demetrio Ubalde told DWIZ that the test was part of the government’s continued effort to curb the deadly lung cancer especially on people living on squatters area and those who are prone to the deadly disease.

The patients were already subject to the government’s health program and started receiving monthly care from their respective town health center, especially in Pandi Bulacan.

Meanwhile, Kadamay leaders are blaming the government for the rapid infection of the disease among the group, saying the infectious disease was intentionally spread by the government to kill them, while others blame the lack of jobs that force them to go on streets to protest rain or shine.

“Walang ibang dapat sisihin kundi ang gobyerno. Kung may trabaho sana kaming maayos e di sana hindi kami inuulan at inaarawan sa kalsada”, a Kadamay leader Diosdado Peligro said.
