Just In! NPA’s Oldest Commander, Pregnant Partner Surrender Due to Worsening Arthritis

The oldest and one of the highest-ranking ground commanders of the New People’s Army (NPA), and his young pregnant wife have finally called it quits and decided to return to the government.

On Wednesday, NPA’s Southern Luzon Commander Jaime “Ka Diego” Padilla and his 24-year old pregnant partner Katryn “Ka Katryn” Estabaya , sought refuge in the house of a Barangay Chairman in a rural barangay in Tayabas City, Quezon province. Padilla, 78, was reportedly in great pain due to severe arthritis, while his six-month pregnant partner was extremely weak and dehydrated.

The couple was accompanied by six other NPA members loyal to Padilla.

According to a limited information released by the Philippine Army’s 61st Infantry Division, the group was brought to a military camp where they were treated as one of their companions also suffered fractured leg after falling from a ravine.

The group reportedly walked more than 16 hours before reaching the closest remote village.
Padilla is one of the highest ground commanders of the communist group and his surrender is a big blow to the communist regime according to a military spokesman who refused to be identified due to extremely sensitive matter.

The Southern Command ordered high alert after Padilla’s surrender as members of his group may chase and kill him and his cohorts.

Padilla is the spokesman and leader of the Melito Glor Command – a group of NPA operating in Cordillera and South Luzon, while Katryn, 24, walked away from her family two years ago to join one of the world’s longest-raging Marxist rebellions.

The group’s full battle gears were peacefully endorsed to the fetching army. The exact time, date, and place of their surrender was not revealed in order to protect the concerned Barangay chairman.

Full details about their surrender will not be available until the military decides according to selected journalists who had access to the sensitive report.
