On Saturday, Fr. Felomino Pranca, a parish priest in Tondo said donations in the last two weeks of June surged by more than 56% compared to May.

In a similar case, a priest from Caloocan Fr. Dante Sablay echoed the same problem. He said his church received the lowest donation last Sunday since he was assigned to the parish four years ago.

Sablay told DZRH on Friday morning.

The La Sallean Theological Association on Friday released a quick survey result that says the Catholic Church, especially in Metro Manila, had lost around 20% of donations from big donors while struggle to keep the number of worshippers in the last two week. The survey has pre-determined the tomorrow’s donation already and analysis shows a devastating data.

Economist Dr. Raul Cueva of the University of the Philippines said the Duterte phenomenon is still alive and his supporters are taking everything into context – even rejecting the Catholic Church to support him.

The CBCP has called on national emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the said serious matter.
