Dayan, who is currently bedridden in his home in Pangasinan, is said to be suffering from severe rheumatic arthritis.

Dayan was a former driver-bodyguard and lover of the then Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, and was involved in an anomalous deal with high profile Bilibid inmates.

The petition which was submitted by De Lima’s lawyers asked a 2-day emergency vacation for the senator, who also wish to visit her law graduate son after she failed to attend his graduation last week.

Supreme Court Administrator Atty. Midas Marquez said the Supreme Court has already assigned an associate justice who will review her petition. The result can be expected as early as 4 working days.

Dayan has been suffering arthritis for years but it was worsened when he ran away from authorities last 2016.
