“O ito number ni Hontivirus, baka gusto nyo siyang batiin ng bad luck”, the post that had been shut down said.

The blotter says Hontiveros turned off her phone while charging before going to bed on Tuesday night. She woke up at around 2:00AM to have a glass of water and turned her cell phone. Her phone started receiving thousands of text messages and hang up several times.

“My phone sounded like a horn for more than 5 minutes and hang up several times. I had to turn it off again several times. I received different hate text messages mostly wishing for me and my family’s demise”, the blotter said.

The senator has turned over the sim card to the cyber-crime lab for forensic investigation.

Hontiveros said only close family members and friends knew her cell phone number and it is really head-scratching how her number ended up in the hands of a stranger who posted it on Facebook.

The profile that posted the number was just created the same day. The post was shared initially on Pro-Duterte groups and became viral for 4 hours before it was taken down on Tuesday.

The CIDG said they so far, they collected a total of 4,156 different cell phone numbers.
Globe Telecom has granted the Senators special request to block incoming text messages that are not included in her contact list.
